I build
useful
software.

Full-stack developer in the UK, building web apps, developer tools, and practical systems for teams that need clear thinking as much as clean code.

// About

I like the
messy middle.
That is the job.

I am a full-stack developer with 5+ years of experience turning vague requirements into working, maintainable software.

The part I enjoy most is the messy middle: shaping the data, tightening the interface, finding the awkward edge case, and explaining the trade-offs clearly enough that a team can move.

I am useful when something needs to be thought through, built properly, and finished without a lot of theatre.

I ask early

The cheapest fixes usually happen before code, when the shape of the problem is still flexible.

I ship in slices

I prefer visible progress, tight feedback loops, and fewer surprise rewrites at the end.

I explain the why

Good engineering work should be understandable to the people depending on it.

React, typed interfaces, and UI systems that are easy to keep extending.

ReactNext.jsTypeScriptTailwindCSS

APIs, database-backed products, and the glue between product ideas and real workflows.

Node.jsExpressPostgreSQLREST

Small decisions written down, code reviewed honestly, and tests where they reduce risk.

// For Clients

Where I can
be useful.

I am a good fit when a project needs both product sense and hands-on engineering: someone to ask the awkward questions, then build the thing properly.

01
Product builds

For new tools, dashboards, portals, and internal apps where the frontend, backend, and database need to fit together.

02
API design and integration

For REST APIs, auth, payments, and third-party services that need clear contracts and predictable failure modes.

03
Performance and cleanup

For slow pages, awkward data flows, brittle components, or codebases that need calmer foundations.

04
Technical sounding board

For architecture reviews, stack decisions, and practical second opinions before a build gets expensive.

// Ways to work together

Scoped project

A defined piece of work with clear outcomes before build starts.

Hourly support

£60-£100 / hour for focused help or reviews.

Day rate

£400-£750 / day for deeper build or cleanup work.

Ongoing retainer

A steady slot for support, iteration, and maintenance.

A few sentences about the problem is enough to start.

// Experience

Work with
real edges.

Recent work has mostly sat at the practical end of full-stack development: public websites, admin tools, content workflows, and the bits users notice when they break.
